The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the U.S. government institution that oversees the withholding and filing of taxes. International students are not always exempt from income taxes in the United States. To determine your tax obligations, you should visit the IRS website.
Upon arrival at UCF, you may be required to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). The International Services Center (ISC) will make this determination on your behalf and assist you with the required paperwork if necessary. After receiving your SSN or ITIN, you will need to provide this information to ISC.
